OU Athletics Internship
While working with OU Athletics Graphic Design, I contributed to the creation of graphics across a wide range of sports, from football-specific content to broader athletic branding. Through this experience, I developed a strong understanding of the role typography plays in effective visual communication, particularly in designing graphics that are both engaging and easily readable across various platforms. I also significantly strengthened my skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, allowing me to expand my creative range and produce more dynamic, high-impact designs.
I collaborated closely with art directors and fellow interns, contributing to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where meeting tight deadlines was essential. This experience helped me refine my ability to take direction, iterate quickly, and deliver polished work efficiently.
Although many of the projects I contributed to were team efforts, the following pieces highlight a selection of graphics I designed independently, showcasing my individual creative approach and technical abilities:
Social Graphics:

This Halloween graphic was created for OU Athletics’ Instagram with the goal of delivering something playful and clever. I experimented with a variety of textures, overlays, shadows, and highlights to add depth and visual interest. Featuring OU’s mascot, Boomer, positioned in front of Gaylord Memorial Stadium helped reinforce school spirit and tie the concept back to the university.

This graphic was designed to spotlight OU athletes competing in the Track and Field World Championships, along with the country they were representing. The concept incorporated cherry blossom imagery to visually reference the event’s location in Japan, while clearly presenting each athlete’s schedule and the events they were participating in.

These graphics were created to promote OU men’s basketball and their upcoming matchups, with both designs formatted in two sizes for use across multiple platforms.

These graphics were created for OU Women’s Tennis, building on previously established layouts to ensure visual consistency throughout the season. By maintaining alignment with the team’s existing design system, the work reinforces brand recognition while allowing for subtle variations that keep each graphic fresh and engaging.
T-Shirt Designs:

This giveaway T-shirt was designed for an OU Women’s Volleyball white-out game, where maintaining a cohesive, all-white aesthetic was essential to the fan experience. To align with this theme, I used subtle gray typography on a white shirt, ensuring the design remained visually engaging while preserving the event’s unified look.

This giveaway T-shirt was created for an OU Women’s Gymnastics meet, where maintaining alignment with the program’s specific design preferences was a key priority. Incorporating the phrase “Boomer Sooner, Say It Back” on the back, I approached the layout in a way that felt energetic and engaging, encouraging student participation and crowd interaction.

These fan T-shirts were designed for the OU Women’s Softball team, using a provided list of phrases while allowing creative direction for the overall concept. For the phrase “Built on Greatness,” I developed a design that visually connects the team’s success to its foundation, the softball field itself. The composition also subtly references the shape of home plate through the arrangement of the typography, reinforcing the sport’s identity while adding a conceptual layer to the design.
