This process has not only refined the project but has also significantly contributed to my growth as a designer.

One of the most significant insights gained was the critical importance of user feedback in the design process. Initially, I had a strong inclination towards a particular design layout, believing it to be the most intuitive and visually appealing. However, A/B testing revealed that users found the alternative design more efficient and easier to navigate. This was a humbling yet invaluable lesson in the need to set aside personal preferences and prioritize user needs. The data from A/B testing provided clear, actionable insights that directly influenced design decisions.

Another key insight was the power of simplicity in design. User testing indicated that these elements were easy to navigate through. Users responded more to a cleaner, simpler design. This experience underscored the importance of focusing on core functionality and removing unnecessary elements, reinforcing the principle that less is often more in design.

One of the specific challenges I faced was deciding on the layout for the home page. I was torn between two distinct approaches: one that emphasized visual appeal with large imagery and the other that prioritized words over the pictures. To resolve this, I conducted A/B testing with a representative sample of target users. The results clearly indicated that the information-dense layout was more effective and visually pleasing. This data-driven decision not only improved the home page’s usability but also reinforced the value of A/B testing as a tool for resolving design decisions.

Another challenge I continue to grapple with is the implementation of dropdown buttons on the program page. Users have expressed difficulty in within the buttons so i ahd to go in and see why they were not working right. To address this, I plan to experiment with alternative UI elements instead of dropdown menus. This approach to problem-solving is a crucial aspect of the design process, and I am committed to continually refining the UI design based on user feedback.

The process of creating the hi-fi prototype and conducting A/B testing has significantly contributed to my growth as a designer. It has reinforced the importance of empathy in design, teaching me to see the UI from the user’s perspective and to prioritize their needs above my own preferences. It has also honed my analytical skills, as I have learned to interpret user data and translate it into actionable design improvements. Furthermore, this experience has given me a deep appreciation for design and recognizing that design is not a one-time event but an ongoing process of refinement

Creating a hi-fi prototype and A/B testing different user interfaces (UIs) has been a journey, providing key insights into user behavior and design effectiveness.
