High Fidelity Prototype V.1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During this stage, my goal was to make a high-fidelity prototype, but it was more challenging than I originally thought. My paper prototype didn’t always transfer seamlessly into digital form. To start the prototype, I made a master template, a series of atoms, molecules, and organisms to create key screens. I mirrored my paper prototype as much as I could. When making the new prototype, I changed some of the buttons and labeling because of insights I gained from the cognitive walkthrough. However, when I started to add color, I struggled to develop a color scheme. I turned to ChatGPT, and I prompted: \u201cI’m creating a high fidelity prototype for my exercise app. Act as a UI\/UX designer. Generate 5 different color palettes for the exercise app.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It gave me at least 5 results before I prompted again, trying to find better colors. I would experiment with my design by taking the hex values and implementing them into my home screen. Oftentimes, ChatGPT would explain where and how to use the colors, but I never found a palette that I liked. Eventually, I developed my own colors. While I didn’t use the colors ChatGPT gave me, they were a good starting point. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Heuristic Testing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During this phase, I also conducted heuristic testing with other people in class. Testers found that my design didn\u2019t align with heuristics four, seven, and eight: consistency, feedback, and minimalism. There were several inconsistencies between some of my molecules and interactions. Some of my elements had different rounded edges or had different padding.  Not to mention, I was missing key interactions for the exercise plan creation. There was no way to save let alone know that the new plan was saved. Even though I tried to make clarifications from my cognitive walkthrough, I still had several revisions to make in order to clarify and make my design easier to use.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

High Fidelity Prototype V.2<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It was also around this time that I completely revised most of my app. It was brought to my intention that my design was very generic and offered very little to motivate users to exercise consistently. With help from the professor, I had a new home screen that coincided with my original problem and solution. Then, I revisited all my other screens to reevaluate and change in accordance to my home screen. After revising most of my screens, I needed to add more data and information into my design. Instead of trying to create my own data, like how many steps a user took during their run, I prompted ChatGPT: \u201cI’m working on developing my exercise app in Figma. I need to show a realistic representation of a 2 mile run. Generate the users steps, calories burned, pace, and time for my representation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the High Fidelity Phase, I used AI for idea generation and to develop statistics that demonstrate what my app can do. Oftentimes, I had to adjust or completely alter the data, but it streamlined the process of making the app. I was able to work quicker and more efficiently.
