ParkTravels: National Park Magazine
For this project, we were given the opportunity to choose a topic of personal interest and develop a magazine around it. I chose National Parks because of my love for exploring them and my desire to share that passion with others.
Research:
To begin developing a magazine centered on National Parks, I first researched existing magazines with similar themes. This process helped me understand the competitive landscape and the types of content commonly included in travel publications. I also selected articles that best aligned with my magazine’s vision and goals, which is highlighting the beauty and sense of adventure found in National Parks. The magazine focuses on specific hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and a variety of activities and facts about each park. Overall, it combines practical tips for park visitors with striking visuals that capture the parks’ natural beauty.
I also considered the target audience for the magazine, which includes individuals who enjoy travel and adventure, as well as photography enthusiasts. This audience spans a wide range of ages and lifestyles—from families with children, to college students planning trips with friends, to older adults looking to embark on one more meaningful adventure.
