Neustadt Poster Contest
This project was a part of a contest to develop a poster for the Neustadt Literature Fest.

Sketching
This project was a part of a contest to develop a poster for the Neustadt Literature Fest. The poster had two main focuses, the Literature Fest and the author that was going to receive a reward. The biggest challenge was trying to find a way to combine the two.

Early Designs
I made a list of book related items and researched Charlie Sherry’s culture to start sketching and generating ideas. After various sketches, I had two ideas I wanted to develop. The first one related to her book about Dreams. The second contained an open book, but the left side was dominated by a sash from her culture.

Final Design
My main concern with the second was that it could be seen as cultural appropriation, so I stuck with the other idea. My Starscape was seen as snow, so I gave more dimension to my stars. I also made the constellations more active and included writing utensils.
