Chappy: AI-Powered Mental Health Communication Support App

Effective communication is essential for seeking support with mental health, yet discussing these issues can be difficult—even with close friends or family. Teenagers, in particular, often struggle to open up to their parents due to a lack of trust, which can lead to unaddressed concerns and more serious mental health challenges.

Chappy is an AI-powered app designed to help users build mental health communication skills. It allows individuals to practice conversations with customizable AI personas, simulating real interactions with people they may find difficult to approach. The app also includes a mood journaling feature, helping users track their emotional state and add context to their conversations with the AI agent.

This project concept was collaboratively developed by Kieran Hardridge, and Kredence VonTungeln. Each team member then independently designed the prototype, showcasing their unique interpretation of the app.
